With reports of security breaches seemingly everyday, we need to protect our online selves as much as possible. One part of that is using good passwords. I know it's a pain to use AND remember a variety of good, secure passwords. I use a utility called 1password that auto generates secure passwords, auto fills website logins with those passwords, and has an option to use Dropbox to make my encrypted password file available to all of my devices. I only need to remember the one master password that I set up for the software - it does the rest. Check it out here and let me know if you have any questions.
There are other password managers available - Here's a link to a page that reviews the top ones.
I just can't stress enough how important it is to backup your computer files. Whether it be your small business finance information, photos of your kids, or church secretary business forms...whatever you keep - you don't want to lose to a computer crash.
For comprehensive backup plans - give me a call and we can talk about how to cover your data for everyday file recovery and for off-site disaster recovery. I've included a couple of options here.
Backblaze Online Backups
I found BackBlaze when I was looking for a good solution for backing up my Mac online. I have over 100 GB of files and that can get expensive to backup in the cloud. Enter BackBlaze - the back up is customizable or out of the box easy - and it's only $5 a month for unlimited - yes, I said unlimited data backup! My Mac is happy, I'm happy...Use this link to download and get started with Backblaze back up today! http://www.backblaze.com/partner/af7960

Backblaze also works on Windows PCs and mobile devices!
A great utility for backing up your Mac is SuperDuper!
I've used this product for years. You can get a free version or a paid version with added functionality. SuperDuper! allows you to back up (clone) your entire drive to an external drive. In case of disaster on your Mac, you can copy the clone back to your hard drive in essence reverting to an earlier date in time. The clone is a straight file copy so you can retrieve single files from the back up if needed.

Windows 7 System Image Backup and Restore
Windows 7 has a feature called System Image Back up and Restore. Windows has always provided a rudimentary (and somewhat spotty) option for backing up data, but now offers the option of backing up an exact copy of your hard drive that can be restored if your system becomes broken. I've included a couple of links here that includes tutorials.
